In Piratoons, players compete to build the biggest, fastest, and most formidable pirate ship on the high seas. Each turn, a treasure trove of boat parts and equipment is revealed, sparking a frantic real-time bidding war. Players strategically place their crew meeples on the loot they desire, but only the most cunning pirates will claim the best treasures—ties cancel out, opening the door for strategic sabotage and last-minute steals.
After the plundering phase, unclaimed loot is auctioned off, and players construct their ships. Points are awarded for wealth, equipment, speed, and ship size, with bonuses for clever tile placement and penalties for unfilled sections. After eight rounds, the most notorious pirate emerges victorious!
